Richard Alphonso Leven

Richard Leven born Nov. 12, 1954, age 67 a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away on July 1, 2022 in Pahrump, Nevada.  Richard was born and raised in Michigan.  He moved to Nevada to retire in 2019.

Richard loved being with his family.  He always made sure our family was well taken care of.  Richard was an entrepreneur, and built his house in Michigan.  He loved car racing, boxing, the blues, his dog Sqeeky, and grilling for the whole family.  Richard had a great sense of humor that would make every one laugh. He was a practical joker with a generous heart of gold.  He never hesitated to help when he was able.  He loved his family.

He will be missed and loved fiercely and deeply.  We take comfort in knowing Richard is now at peace, surrounded by light. He was preceded in death by his mother Geneva Matthews, and his first grandson, Marcus Emmons.

He is survived by his spouse, Hortencia Leven, his children, Cynthia (Willie) Davis, Julia (Brian) Wigington, Richard Leven Jr, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 44 nieces and nephews, his father Albert (Becky) Leven Sr, Daniel Matthews, his stepfather, brothers Albert Leven, LeRoy Leven, sisters Janice Elias, Annette, Elizabeth, June, and Janie, all from Michigan
